• They come in all shapes and sizes, each with a unique character and belief system based on their own tried and tested success and failures
  • The best still lead by example though in all aspects, working hard but providing understanding for those that do not wish to put in the same level of effort that they do. Not everyone can be a ceo!
  • They have positive relationships with everyone from their bosses, across their peers, to the people that thoroughly annoy them, to the newest graduate or secretary. Why because it is easier to get the things she or he wants done if that person believes in their leader instead of being forced
  • They encourage contentious conversations at a Board level
  • They communicate at Board level any changes, then look for opportunities to impact all levels in that chain to find out how much of that change has been communicated. Thereupon she or he will alter any miscommunications, explain the reasoning or explain from scratch if that person has never heard of this new change before
  • They have an uncanny and regularly shocking ability to do the job (and do it well) of anyone in that office. If she or was fired tomorrow, they could start up their own company doing that same job and make a fantastic success of it. They do not hide behind a big corporate brand
  • Coach – They seek out opportunities to find out what is going on across the business and find areas for development for all people in the business. One by one upskilling hundreds (or more!) people where possible
